Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella was disappointed his side could only manage a draw at home to Roma on Sunday evening.
Mario Gomez put the Viola ahead in the first half but former Fiorentina player Adem Ljajic equalised for the Giallorossi as the match ended 1-1.
“My team gave everything and I think given the consistency of our play, we deserved the victory,” Montella told Sky Sport Italia. “I have no complaints this evening, just that I think we could have won.”
On striker Mario Gomez, Montella went on to say: “He is improving and I expect a lot more to come from him. He is starting to score again but he can do much better.”
The result leaves Fiorentina sixth in Serie A, three points behind third placed Lazio in the race for the final Champions League spot.
