AC Milan’s recently arrived centre back, Salvatore Bocchetti, is hoping performances at his new club will propel him back into the Italian national side.

The former Spartak Moscow player, who has just joined the Rossoneri on loan for the rest of the season, is determined to impress new coach Filippo Inzaghi.

“I’m delighted to be here, everything happened so quickly,” he told Mediaset. “What can I give to this Milan team?  I’ll give everything.”

“I can play in the centre as well as at fullback,” continued the ex-Genoa defender . “The national team? First I’m concentrating on doing well for Milan and then we shall see…”

The Naples-born player was last involved for Italy during a preliminary Euro 2012 gathering, but failed to make coach Cesare Prandelli’s final squad that went on to finish runners up at the tournament jointly held by Poland and Ukraine.
