Lazio coach Stefano Pioli has called on his side to remain focused despite their great season to date as the Biancocelesti prepare to square off against Cesena on Sunday.

The Aquile travel to the Stadio Dino Manuzzi looking to build off last week’s 3-1 victory over AC Milan, but Pioli has called on his players to forget what they have accomplished as there is still half a season of matches left to play.

“We are on a great run, but it has accomplished nothing,” he stated at his pre-match press conference.

“We are at the half way point of our journey and at the moment our position does not count, it will count if we reach our objective. Even tomorrow I want to see us put our attitude of playing football on display.

“We want to do everything to achieve our goal. We have the utmost of respect for Cesena who will be playing at home. We have prepared well in order to return home with important points.”

Pioli also answered questions Ravel Morrison, who has reportedly signed for the Biancocelesti and is expected to join on a free transfer from West Ham United in the summer.

“He is a quality player, I think that is clear. Along with that he has strength and pace.

“However evaluations only done with video are not complete.”
