Inter

Samir Handanovic – 6 – Dormant

The former Udinese goalkeeper was hardly tested and in many ways turned into a spectator for most periods. He could not have done anything about the goal.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 5.5 – Ineffective

The right full back was pretty wayward with his crossing and could not make a positive impact on game. He also had a few shaky moments defensively and was withdrawn in the 55th minute due to an injury

Nemanja Vidic – 6 – Commanding

Although the away side defended deep and were reluctant to commit men forward in attack, the Serb did a good job in organizing the defence and made sure Inter did not get caught on the counter attack.

Marco Andreolli – 5.5 – Stable

The Nerazzurri centre-back did not have much to do especially with Torino defending pretty deep and was unlucky to be taken off at right before half-time due to an apparent hamstring injury.

Joel Obi – 5 – Naive

Obi carelessly lost the ball quite a number of times and also found it difficult to mark the runs of Torino full-back Darmian.

Fredy Guarin – 7 – Solid

The Colombian displayed his entire repertoire of skills in terms of tackling, passing as well as shooting and would want to continue his fine form if Inter are to improve this season.

Zdravko Kuzmanovic – 6 – Inhibited

Kuzmanovic toyed just in front of his defence for most periods of the game and was unable to express himself fully from such a position in midfield.

Rodrigo Palacio – 7- Encouraging

The Argentinean was the creative spark in this Nerazzurri side, sending crosses into the box and trying to feed Icardi whenever possible.

Mateo Kovacic – 5 – Poor

Playing in the ever important No.10 role, Kovacic hardly displayed any mantle or responsibility required to play such a position and he will have to improve quite a lot to remain in Roberto Mancini’s side in the future.

Lucas Podolski – 6 – Average

The Arsenal loanee tested Daniele Padelli twice but other than that he had a pretty normal game. Podolski will definitely have to work on his work rate and dribbling technique.

Mauro Icardi – 6 – Unlucky

Inter’s midfield under performed so much that Icardi did not receive any proper service into the box and was left frustrated for most periods of the game.

Substitutes

Andrea Ranocchia – 5 – Silent

Rannochia who came on at the end of the first half for Andreoll hardly had to flex his muscles as Torino kept sitting back.

Xherdan Shaqiri – 6 – Ecstatic

The former Bayern Munich player was greeted by a roar from the home fans when he came onto the pitch and his performance was equally optimistic. He displayed moments of quality but was inconsistent in his delivery inside the box.

Isaac Donkor – 5 – Inexperienced

Donkor’s inexperience showed as he found himself in no-mans-land during the corner that lead to the only goal of the game.

Torino

Daniele Padelli – 6.5 – Steady

Despite Inter controlling most of the game, Padelli only had a couple of comfortable saves to make and he was more than happy to do it.

Emiliano Moretti – 7.5 – Focused

Moretti made a crucial block to stop a Fredy Guarin shot in the second half and his performance on the whole was an epitome of focus and determination as he even got the goal that decided the game in his side’s favour.

Kamil Glik – 7 – Composed

The Torino captain soaked in all the pressure from Mancini’s side and kept his head down, defending with a high level of coolness and composure.

Nikola Maksimovic – 7 – Energetic

Maksimovic complimented his centre-back partner Glik in every way. He and Glik took turns to man mark Icardi and it worked out perfectly for the away side.

Cristian Molinaro – 7 – Dashing

Molinaro was always searching for pockets of space to attack Inter and kept venturing forward down the left flank to great effect. He also gave D’Ambrosio quite a horrid time.

Alexander Farnerud – 6.5 – Workaholic

Farnerud worked his socks off throughout the game and constantly kept nullifying the threat posed by Inter’s attacking department.

Marco Benassi – 6.5 – Creative

The former Inter youth player played as a complete box to box midfielder and created quite a few opportunities to put Torino in front but was really unlucky as the centre-forwards could not make the most of such opportunities.

Matteo Darmian – 7 – Sprinter

The Italy international who played as a right full-back was Torino’s most liveliest of players as he thrust up and down the right down whenever given a chance,  causing quite a few concerns for the Inter defence.

Fabio Quagliarella – 6 – Decent

Quagliarella saw more of the ball than his compatriot Martinez but could not make the most of it as his first touch was pretty bad at times. However, the Italian worked pretty hard and had a good game.

Josef Martinez – 5 – Anonymous

Martinez hardly had got into the game and was neither creating chances nor getting at the end of things. However, he did miss a glorious heading chance early on in the second half.

Substitutes

Maxi Lopez – 7 – Wanda

Lopez, who was introduced in place of misfiring striker Martinez, injected some fresh energy into the Granata’s gameplay. And most importantly, it was his brilliant flick through a header that was slotted in home by Moretti.

Omar El Kaddouri – 6 – Aggressive

The substitute put on a aggressive display as he pressed Inter’s midfield and made them loose the ball on quite a few occasions.

Cesare Bovo – N/A
