Roma have turned their attention to Olympiacos shot-stopper Roberto, after becoming frustrated in their hunt for other targets.

The 28-year-old former Spanish youth international has been a standout performer for the Greek champions since making the move from Atletico Madrid in 2013.

Sportmediaset report that Roma have shifted their focus to Roberto after becoming disheartened in their attempts to sign Fiorentina’s Neto and Chelsea’s Petr Cech.

The Giallorossi were impressed with Roberto’s performances in the Champions League this season, especially in the ties against Juventus, and are convinced he can be an upgrade over Morgan De Sanctis.

Roberto has been an ever-present for the Greeks giants this term, making 22 appearances in all competitions so far.
