Sampdoria have struck a deal with Udinese to sign Colombian striker Luis Muriel for €12 million.

The Blucerchiati are looking for reinforcements in attack after Manolo Gabbiadini was sold to Napoli, and have looked to the former Lecce man to address their offensive needs.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Sampdoria will pay Udinese €12m for Muriel and all that is missing now is the signature of the player; included in the deal is 29-year-old centre-back Andrea Coda, who will also be heading to the Genoese club.

The report also states that the Zebrette originally wanted €15m for Muriel, €5m less than Sampdoria’s €10m offer; however, Doria president Massimo Ferrero was able to reduce the asking price after meeting with Udinese chairman Giampaolo Pozzo.

Muriel has scored 19 goals in 65 matches for Udinese, also scoring one goal in five matches for Colombia.
