Sampdoria look set to be closing in on Ajax captain Niklas Moisander after meeting with his agent on Wednesday.
The 29-year-old Finnish international has been a consistent performer for the Dutch champions since making the move there from AZ in 2012, but has a contract that expires at the end of the season.
Sky Sport Italia report that Sampdoria met with Moisander’s representatives to discuss a possible move to the Serie A club at the conclusion of the current campaign.
The defender has so far rejected the notion of signing a new contract, and looks set to leave the Dutch giants on a free transfer at the end of June.
Moisander has been an ever-present for Ajax this term, garnering 23 appearances in all competitions so far.
