Udinese boss Andrea Stramaccioni has revealed his biggest desire is to settle in Rome and be able to coach Roma.

The self-confessed Giallorossi fan was appointed as the head coach of the Zebrette in the summer of 2014, after being sacked by Inter at the end of the 2012-2013 Serie A season, and his side now find themselves placed ninth in the Serie A table on 27 points.

“As a child I was a Roma fan. In Rome, I have my family and many friends,” said the 39-year-old to Sky Sport Italia.

“And if one day the possibility arises that I could become the Roma coach, it would be great satisfaction. But I am proud to be at Udinese right now.”

Stramaccioni then went onto explain what it meant to lead this Udinese side in the Serie A.

“The call from Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo was for me a source of great pride. Attracting the attention of a club like this, for a young coach like me, represents the maximum.

“The club is the symbol of organization and planning.”

The former Inter coach also highlighted how he felt surprised and nearly fell off a chair when the then Inter president Massimo Moratti offered him the chance to guide the Nerazzurri.

Stramaccioni’s side entertain league leaders Juventus next at the Stadio Friuli on Sunday afternoon
