Juventus legend David Trezeguet has retired from football after opting not to move to Serie B side Modena, and could now return to Turin as a director.

The 37-year-old had most recently played for Indian Super League team FC Pune City in 2014 and had been discussing a move to the Gialloblu but has instead decided to call time on his career.

The news was broken by Argentinean newspaper Clarin, where Trezeguet played for River Plate and Newell’s Old Boys, with quotes attributed to the player’s agent Antonio Caliendo.

It is claimed that the French World Cup and European Championship winner could be set to return to the Old Lady in a club director.

The former Monaco striker scored 149 goals in 245 appearances during ten years at Juventus, winning three Serie A titles, two Suppercoppa Italiana trophies and a Serie B title.
