Udinese’s Danilo wants to represent Italy in Euro 2016

Danilo - UdineseUdinese’s Brazilian born defender Danilo has admitted that he harbours the goal of playing for Italy at Euro 2016.

The 30-year-old has been an ever-present for the Zebrette this current season and he has been one of their more consistent performers. He has not made any international appearances for his native Brazil but he is now aiming to break into the Azzurri squad.

“I have Italian blood in my veins and I have the passport,” the defender told Il Messaggero Veneto.

“I would like to wear the national team’s shirt at the next European Championships.

“I hope [Antonio] Conte will take me in consideration.”

Danilo has been with Udinese since 2011 after he completed a €2 million move from Brazilian side Palmeiras and has gone on to make over 150 appearances in all competitions for the side.. He previously had stints with Clube Atletico Paranaense, Paulista and Ituano.
