Cagliari coach Gianfranco Zola has said that Atalanta will provide a real test to his side.

The Rossoblu are set to visit the Stadio Azzurri d’Italia on Sunday to face Stefano Colantuono’s men, and Zola spoke about who will replace the suspended Albin Ekdal.

“Atalanta are a really good side,” he said. “They have a great coach and really good players.

“We have to prevent any balls they play to the strikers, it will be a real test.

“At the back I think both [Luca] Ceppitelli and [Simone] Benedetti will play.

“There are many players who can replace Ekdal such as [Marco] Sau, [Diego] Farias, and [Josef] Husbauer.

“Playing with two attacking midfielders has given us great balance thus far, so we’d like to continue playing that way.”

Zola plied his trade at Parma between 1993 and 1996, and the former forward expressed his disappointment at the club’s dire financial situation and low place in the table.

“I’m very sorry for what is happening at Parma,” he said. “I’m sorry for the coach [Roberto Donandoni], I really hope they survive the drop.”

Cagliari currently sit in 17th place in the Serie A table with 19 poins.
