AC Milan host Cesena at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday night and the two sides enter this game with contrasting form guides.

The Rossoneri are now in 11th place on 30 points while the Cavallucci Marini are languishing in 19th place on 16 points and are seven points from safety.

Both teams come into this game on the back of draws from the previous round of Serie A action. AC Milan struggled in their drew 1-1 with Empoli whereas Cesena surprised many people by drawing 2-2 with Serie A leaders Juventus.

Rossoneri coach Filippo Inzaghi has been under fire for a while and it has been suggested that assistant coach Mauro Tassotti could take over the reins if the 41-year-old fails to win against Cesena.

Domenico Di Carlo got off to a slow start after he replaced Pierpaolo Bisoli on the Cavallucci Marini bench but he has managed to collect some points in the last month. In addition to drawing against Juventus, Cesena defeated fellow strugglers Parma 2-1 and they also won against Lazio by the same scoreline.

Christian Abbiati will be replacing Diego Lopez in the AC Milan goal after the Spaniard was sent-off against Empoli. Defender Daniele Bonera is expected to make his first appearance since the 1-0 defeat to Atalanta and Alessio Cerci is expected to play on the right-wing ahead of Keisuke Honda.

Di Carlo is expected to start a similar starting 11 to the one that drew against the Bianconeri and the likely change from that game is that Constantin Nica will start at right-back for the Cavallucci Marini.

AC Milan will be missing Lopez, Gabriel Paletta and Philippe Mexes due to suspensions and the likes of Cristian Zapata, Stephan El Shaarawy, Ignazio Abate and Mattia De Sciglio are unavailable due to injuries.

Cesena right-back Gabriele Perico received his fourth yellow card of the season against Juventus and he will not be eligible to face the Rossoneri. On the injury front, the Sea Horses will not have Nico Pulzetti and Emmanuel Cascione available and forward Guido Marilungo is still out with a long-term injury.
