Napoli look set to miss out on long-time target Jackson Martinez, with Arsenal ready to do a summer deal for the FC Porto star.
The Colombian striker has been trailed by a posse of big clubs for quite some time, due to his outstanding form both domestically and in European competition.
According to the Metro newspaper, Martinez has an agreement with club president Pinto da Costa that will allow him to move on at the end of the season.
Partenopei president Aurelio De Laurentiis publicly confirmed an interest in the forward as far back as 2013, but may now struggle to fend off the Gunners’ overtures for the 28-year-old.
With two years of his current contract still to run, it’s believed a bid of around €40 million would be enough to secure Martinez’s services.
