Inter director of football Piero Ausilio has revealed that the club will enter talks with striker Mauro Icardi regarding a new contract between Sunday and Tuesday.
The striker has been linked with a move away from the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza club, with these reports peaking since his recent altercation with the Inter supporters following the Nerazzurri’s defeat to Sassuolo, but it now appears that the Argentine striker is set to put pen-to-paper on a new deal.
“Both parties share the same desire to talk,” he began.
“We must recognise that the guy is a great striker and he has demands which we will look to meet in a professional way.
“There will be a meeting between Sunday and Tuesday.
“We are still quite some way from reaching an agreement, but we will get there.”
The 22-year-old has found the net 14 times in his 23 Serie A appearances so far this season.
