Barcelona rejected chance to sign Palermo star Dybala for €4 million!

Paulo Dybala - Genoa v PalermoBarcelona rejected the opportunity to sign Palermo star Paulo Dybala for €4 million back in 2012 when he was still with Instituto.

The 21-year-old Argentinian youngster has taken the Serie A by storm this year with his dazzling performances, leading to speculation that clubs would have to offer up to €40 million to prize him away from the Renzo Barbera.

Sport reveals that Barcelona sent a scout down to watch Dybala in action for Instituto back in 2012, with a view of signing him for their B team.

Los Cules were however put off by the price-tag of €4 million, and Dybala’s supposed small and slender frame and they decided not to pursue the talented attacker anymore.

Palermo swooped in soon after, and after a difficult start to life in Italy, the highly-rated forward has exploded this season leading to interest from Europe’s elite clubs.
