Palermo striker Andrea Belotti has revealed that his team’s victory over Hellas Verona has been a very important result in their fight to attain salvation and insists that he remains ready to give his all for the Aquile at all times.

The Rosanero sit in seventh place in the Serie A standings following their 2-1 win against the Gialloblu at home on Sunday, with Belotti scoring the game winning goal in the 79th minute, and the 21-year-old admits that it’s his mission to please coach Giuseppe Iachini by hunting for the back of the net whenever he is called upon.

Belotti spoke to Sky Sport Italia after the great result against Hellas Verona about his goal and commented on Palermo’s objectives for the remainder of the season.

“The goal? I got a touch on it, but then I don’t know if it ended up taking a deflection off of a defender,” said the Italy Under-21 international.

“I must always be ready for when the coach gives me an opportunity to play, as a striker you live for goals. This victory is very important for us.

“Our objectives? We’re keeping our feet on the ground, we want to reach salvation as soon as possible.”
