Although his side failed to win the derby, Genoa midfielder Andrea Bertolacci believes his side are better than Sampdoria.
The Grifone drew with their rivals, despite taking the lead, on Tuesday evening and were beaten 1-0 by the Bluerchiati earlier this season.
Yet the former Roma man told Mediaset Premium: “We are sorry that we did not win the game. We played great football and I think that anybody who watched it would have enjoyed it with the football both played.
“Genoa have shown that we are superior to Sampdoria and now we are thinking of getting a win from the game this Sunday.”
Bertolacci played a starring role for Genoa in the derby and was involved in Iago Falque’s opener which was cancelled out by an Eder equaliser.
