Cesena president Giorgio Lugaresi has revealed that he does not want to be any part of a group of clubs that could help out ailing Parma and that the club got themselves in this mess and should not be saved by others.

Rumours surfaced that the Lega Serie A and the FIGC could step in to help out the bankrupt club with several sides reportedly willing to help save the Ducali, however struggling Cesena have ruled out any assistance to Parma.

“The situation of Parma must not produce a case of children and step-children,” Lugaresi was quoted in Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We at Cesena have done everything possible to stand on our own feet.

“Parma have allowed all this to happen, they continued to make signings in January.

“We knew we could not do it and we kept to the rules.

“They came out in the transfer window and brought in three new reinforcements.

“Now we expect that our interests will be protected, otherwise will have to raise our objections, indeed we already are doing just that.”
