Atalanta coach Stefano Colantuono believes his side secured ‘three valuable points’ thanks to their 2-1 win over Cagliari on Sunday.

The game had look destined to finish a draw, a result that would have benefited neither team, until Mauricio Pinilla struck deep into added on time with a fantastic volleyed effort.

”It was a well deserved victory.” Colantuono told Rai Radio.

”Over the whole ninety minutes we did the right things.

”The game was tight going into half time but we made the correct response to the equaliser.’

”He [Pinilla] took the goal well due to how decisive he is. Acrobatic play is one of his strong assets.

”It is three valuable points and we needed the win to get away from the danger zone.

”The road is long but we must continue like this. If our attackers keep working hard then the chance of winning increases.”
