Empoli midfielder Daniele Croce was pleased with his side’s battling performance in their 1-1 draw with Scudetto contenders Roma on Saturday evening.
The two sides were unable to separate themselves at the final whistle in which both teams finished with 10 men, but Croce said that Empoli should’ve come away from Olimpico with all three points.
“Even in the Italian Cup [a few weeks ago] we put Roma in big trouble,” Croce told Rai after the match.
“This time we could’ve even won the match, it was in our hands up until a certain point.
“I was unfortunate to get that yellow card, when I took the ball with the face instead of my hand. It’s a pity I was cautioned.”
