Speaking ahead of their clash with AC Milan, Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero has revealed that president Silvio Berlusconi tried to bring him to the club in the past.

And jokingly he announced he is a free agent now should the Rossoneri wish to make him an offer.

Speaking to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Del Piero admitted, “Berlusconi wanted to sign me in 1992 before my move to Juventus and then again in 2010, so that I could have ended my career with the Rossoneri.

“Now I can say that if they are still interested in signing me, I am a free agent.”

The 40-year-old stressed the fact that coach Filippo Inzaghi should be given time because they are in a transition phase. He said, “He seems to have aged a bit but that’s normal although in Italy they make a coach’s life complicated.”

Predicting the title race, the 2006 World Cup winner was optimistic about the Bianconeri’s chances whom he said could beat anyone on their day and predicted a 2-1 win for them on Sunday.
