Sassuolo boss Eusebio Di Francesco believes that Lazio will be a tough opponent for his side to overcome but is hoping that his squad can adapt to their opponent’s style of play and earn a result.

The Neroverdi will play host to the Biancocelesti on Sunday and the tactician understands that the home team could encounter some problems in defence against the talented capital city club due to the continued absence of key players Federico Peluso and Sime Vrsaljko.

Di Francesco spoke during his pre-match press conference on Saturday about the challenge Lazio may present and touched on the conditions of some of his players, while also commenting on the pending arrival of veteran defender Cesare Natali at Sassuolo.

“Lazio are a team with great players, they are strong,” said the 45-year-old. “They deserve the ranking they have, perhaps even a few more points.

“We had played a good game against Napoli despite our struggles in defence. It’s sometimes hard to adapt to a certain style of play.

“Unfortunately we will still be without Peluso and Vrsaljko for the match against Lazio.

“Alessandro Longhi? If there aren’t any more problems with his condition then he should be able to play with us tomorrow.

“We’ve been able to better understand the value of our players and our team as we go through these difficulties.

“Natali? He’s with us, on Tuesday he will have his medical and if everything checks out fine then he will be an added value to Sassuolo. Let’s say there’s a 90% chance he will be our player.”
