FIGC president Carlo Tavecchio has come out assuring that Italy coach Antonio Conte will not leave to take a club job, and that no club has approached the Azzurri coach.

Tavecchio’s comments come after many reports linking numerous clubs – namely AC Milan — who would be chasing the signature of the current Italy coach.

Tavecchio relayed a conversation he had with Conte, saying that Conte assured him that the Italian had no ambition to leave the national team for a club post.

“Conte looked me in the eye and told me he has no claim to any club and will honour his contract,” said Tavecchio to Radio 24.

Conte is still tied to the Italy national team until 2016, when his contract is due to expire.
