Former England international and Lazio midfielder Paul Gascoigne has revealed he dreamed of playing for AC Milan before making the move to the Biancocelesti.

Gascoigne joined Lazio from English side Tottenham Hotspur and spent three years playing at the Stadio Olimpico before making a move to Scotland where he played for Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers.

“Lazio was a good experience, but my dream was to play for Milan, a team that I always liked,” the 47-year-old revealed to BT Sport.

“It was the same when I wanted to move to Manchester United who wanted me in 1988, but Tottenham offered me more money.”

Gascoigne made a total of 47 appearances for the Biancazzurri in all competitions, scoring only six goals.
