New Parma interim president Fabio Giordano has spoken about the current debt situation at the club, after his appointment following the club’s recent sale.

Parma was sold to Russian-Cypriot conglomerate Dastraso Holding Ltd, and with the club’s financial situation still in tatters, Giordano has discussed the debt situation he walked into upon being named as temporary president.

Giordano talked about the current Parma situation in an interview to Gazzetta di Parma, explaining that the debt situation from when former president Tommaso Ghirardi was still at the club.

“From my analysis the club’s debt was of €78 million, at least until I came in,” Giordano said.

“The agreement between Ghirardi and [Rezart] Taci provided that the figure would go down but the club instead finds itself in more debt; Taci told me he had assets of €5 billion.”

The Parma situation becomes ever more mysterious every day and more voices are heard. Giordano has signed to fulfill his interim president duties for the coming three months.
