Vincenzo Iaquinta has been investigated by police as he is suspected of illegal possession of weapons.

The Carabinieri found two guns belonging to the player’s father at Iaquinta’s home, as part of the anti-mafia ‘Aemilia’ operation, which has so far led to 117 arrests in relation to the Ndrangheta – Calabrian mafia.

Iaquinta’s father, Giuseppe was then arrested with the Carabinieri raiding Vincenzo’s home, placing the player under investigation.

The former Juventus striker is in possession of the two firearms, but his father has previously been forbidden to have guns in his house, or that of a family member.

As a result, the 2006 World Cup winner should have reported the movement of the guns, and has thus been placed under investigation by the Reggio Emilia authorities.
