Inter have set their sights on a summer move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi in a straight-swap with Fredy Guarin.

Former Napoli man Lavezzi has been on Inter’s radar for sometime and could replace on-loan Arsenal star Lukas Podolski if he fails to convince before the end of the season.

Tuttosport suggest that German World Cup winner Podolski has three months left in which to impress head coach Roberto Mancini sufficiently for him to sanction a permanent switch to Serie A.

However, the left-sided attacker failed to appear at all in Inter’s last two matches and has also been left out of the 25-strong squad list for the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League in favour of fellow new signing Xherdan Shaqiri, thus casting doubt over his future with the Nerazzurri.

Though Podolski is said to have adapted quickly to life in Italy off the field, he may find himself ousted by the potential arrival of Argentine front-man Lavezzi, should a mooted trade with PSG come to fruition.
