Manchester City’s Yaya Toure and his representatives has opened talks with the club regarding the possibility of a contract extension.

The Nerazzurri had been linked with a possible move for the powerful Ivorian since former Manchester City coach Roberto Mancini returned to the Serie A club.

According to The Daily Star, the player has already began to talk to the club about signing a new deal, which would keep Toure at the Premier League champions until 2017.

This extension would almost certainly end any chance Inter had of landing the recently crowned Africa Cup of Nations winner.

Toure, who worked with Mancini during their shared time at the Citizens, has featured 19 times in the Premier League this season, scoring seven goals and assisting one.
