Filippo Inzaghi AC MilanAC Milan coach Filipo Inzaghi has refused to blame bad luck for his side’s 1-1 draw at home to Empoli when the team was booed by some sections of the home support.

The Rossoneri struggled against their Tuscan opponents on Sunday, and were heavily jeered by their own supporters, but Inzaghi believes injuries to several squad members factored into their fractured performance.

“We should not speak of bad luck, it’s a complicated time for us. We have lots of injuries and today everything went wrong,” Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italia after the game.

“Alex went off after just a few minutes and we knew it would be a difficult game because they are very good.

“We went ahead after a balanced first half but you can’t score a goal like we did when you’re already ahead.

“We could have wrapped things up if we were a bit more careful but now we look forward and hope to have some players return for the upcoming games.

“The goal that we conceded? It was an oversight on our part for which we paid dearly but these things happen.

“We must now look ahead and we must roll up our sleeves and turn these boos into cheers.

“We must look to improve our performances but it is difficult to be consistent as I can’t pick the same team every week as I hardly ever have the same players available.”
