AC Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi has praised his players for the effort they displayed in order to grab the Rossoneri’s first win of 2015.

The legendary striker has been under fire of late due to his team’s poor performances, but was able to relieve some of that pressure after by defeating fellow strugglers Parma 3-1 at home on Sunday.

“The guys on the field gave everything, and they deserved to win,” Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italia.

“It is clear that we must improve and play better, but this win was absolutely vital to any future success.

“We must now prepare for our match against the champions of Italy [Juventus].

“We must be the same team that gave Roma, Napoli, and Juventus a challenge last year. The players need some time to recover.

“I thank the president [Silvio Berlusconi] and the club for our new signings, but we must prepare immediately, starting from this evening.

“The boos for the [Sulley] Muntari – [Mattia] Destro substitution? All the fans want [to see more of Destro], it’s normal. But I believe they can be happy from what they’ve seen this evening.

“Can [Gabriel] Paletta be considered a Milan player yet? I don’t know anything about that, but it is official that [Luca] Antonelli is coming, which is very good.”

He then went on to discuss the current state of his squad.

“Do I care about the individual mistakes? It is normal that this team needs to regroup, as January was a very difficult month.

“It is normal to lose confidence after such a difficult time, but you must find form.

“Passion alone is not enough, we must play better but it was very difficult.

“I selected my team today based on what I saw from training, I started [Marco] Van Ginkel who I substituted because he was booked. He is young and needs peace in order to grow.

“I know the environment of this club well, but I knew I couldn’t drastically change things in just a couple of months.

“Everybody knows that I am committed. I will work to bring AC Milan back to the elite level but it won’t be easy.

“I will give everything for this club. I love this job and I will definitely continue to coach in the future, that’s for sure!”
