It was not only a victory on the pitch that Juventus were celebrating when the final whistle blew on their Champions League Last 16 first-leg against Borussia Dortmund in Turin with the club also reporting record takings off it.

The Bianconeri took the lead at the Juventus Stadium though Carlos Tevez before a Giorgio Chiellini mistake allowed Marco Reus to equalise but the Serie A champions will take two valuable away goals to Germany on March 18 after Alvaro Morata scored the winner just before the break.

However, with 41,182 people in attendance the club announced record ticket revenue via their official twitter account shortly after kick-off which Calciomercato.it are reporting at around €2.75m.

Should Massimiliano Allegri’s men overcome the 2013 Champions League runners-up club officials will be looking for more significant paydays as they progress through the latter stages of the competition.
