Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo is set to miss the next three weeks after suffering a calf injury in his team’s Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

The 35-year-old play-maker has been once again one of Juventus’ key figures in this season’s Champions League and Serie A campaign, netting four goals and assisting another three in twenty matches and providing the much needed creativity and intelligence to the Bianconeri’s midfield.

The Serie A champions have stated that the number 21 did not take part in today’s training session at Vinovo, as he was examined by the medical staff. The tests revealed a a first-degree strain of his right calf, which will keep the Italian international out of action for approximately 20 days.

As a result, Pirlo will miss the Old Lady’s Seria A matchup against Roma, while also being at risk for the return leg against Borussia Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park.
