Roma EmpoliRoma fullback and Maicon admits ‘things aren’t going well’ after the 1-1 draw with Empoli on Saturday evening.

The Brazilian hit the equalizer in the second half, but the draw – their sixth in eight matches – means that Roma fall even more behind Juventus in the race for the Scudetto.

“Things are not going well. These draws aren’t good for a team aiming for the Scudetto,” Maicon told Sky Sport Italia after the match.

“Even in defense we’re not going well, but things are going wrong in every department.

“However we remain calm, we know that we’re a strong side. It’s a difficult time but we have to work harder and do better.

“We don’t look behind, we only look forward. A month ago we were close to Juventus, but now we have lost ground.

“Unfortunately we are losing a lot of players to injury, today we even lost Iturbe. We have to bounce back.”
