Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic is being targeted by both Manchester United and Liverpool in the summer.

The 30-year-old Slovenian, who is contracted with Inter until June 2016, has played a key role for the Nerazzurri this season, but renewal negotiations are not going as planned prompting speculation as to his future.

The Daily Express reports that Premier League giants Manchester United and Liverpool are interested in procuring the services of the goalkeeper.

With Liverpool struggling with Simon Mignolet and United’s David de Gea linked to Real Madrid, Handanovic could be the target of aggressive bids from both clubs in the summer.

However, the player’s agent, Federico Pastorello, claimed that the Slovenian would prefer to stay in Italy.

“For now we are not talking about it, as he has a contract until June 2016,” Pastorello told Tuttosport.

“There were three very soft meetings with the Nerazzurri directors. What does Handanovic want? Well, he certainly loves Italy.”
