Parma president Giampietro Manenti has said that the club has the ability to complete the current season.

The troubled Serie A side is under severe financial crisis and is facing bankruptcy amid rumors that the club may not be able to complete the season.

However current patron Giampietro Manenti is adamant that the club has the resources to continue playing.

“I do not want aid, we will move forward with our efforts. We have the money, I’ll do the required meetings and we will see,” said Manenti on Radio 24.

“I don’t expect anything from the Lega and FIGC,” he added. “And I have not been notified of any tax offence by the prosecutor of Parma.

“I’ll meet with [Parma’s] mayor Pizzarotti, but I won’t take the accounts to court, we still have a workable plan to save Parma.

“The match on Sunday? I have €10 for petrol, Parma will play on Sunday, no problem.”

Manenti, who recently took over Parma in a €1 deal, also said that he was not fully aware of the financial troubles of the club.

“I was not aware of anything, As we checked we noticed a few things about the debt situation and all that’s happening around it.

“I did not contact Ghirardi and I was not aware of everything when I took on Parma, however I want to state that the club is still solvent.

“I want to move forward . I’m not afraid, I am here to correct things.

“For due diligence you need 15-20 days, almost a month.

“Whether other teams would like to help us? I’d like that, this would mean that Italian football is still alive.”
