Sampdoria coach Sinisa Mihajlovic was satisfied with the Blucerchiati’s performance in Tuesday’s 1-1 derby draw with Genoa, stating either side could have claimed all three points.

The match ended level after Eder equalized minutes after Iago Falque put the visitors in front, sharing the points as both Sampdoria and rivals Genoa edge ahead of Inter in the Serie A table in sixth and seventh respectively.

“The game overall was balanced and either side could have won,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“We grew into the game well, but they almost scored at the death so a draw is okay. I’m happy with how we played against a team that is playing better than us at the moment.

The Blucerchiati coach gave new signing Samuel Eto’o just under 10 minutes in a match in which Stefano Okaka and Pedro Obiang missed clear cut chances to steal the win.

“Samuel never refused to come off the bench, he had a thigh injury on Saturday but recovered well. He has always been helpful and I see he is eager to help build the team.”
