Barring completely disastrous results, AC Milan are set to continue with Filippo Inzaghi as coach until the end of the season, when he will be replaced.

The 40-year-old only took charge of AC Milan at the start of the current campaign but the former Rossoneri striker has really struggled to adapt to the demands of coaching one of Europe’s grandest sides, with the team having only recorded a solitary league victory in 2015.

Tuttomercatoweb understands that president Silvio Berlusconi and vice-president Adriano Galliani met at the former’s Arcore villa on Tuesday evening and decided to persevere with Inzaghi until June when a more experienced tactician will take over the role.

Antonio Conte had been the pair’s first choice candidate but the national coach appears to have ruled himself out of contention by pledging his allegiance to the Azzurri. As a result, it is understood that AC Milan will now turn their focus towards Fiorentina’s Vincenzo Montella.

Other options are believed to include former Roma boss Luciano Spalletti and Borussia Dortmund’s Jurgen Klopp.
