Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella believes his side can continue to compete on all fronts, following their progression to the Coppa Italia semi-finals.

La Viola will face Serie A leaders Juventus in the final four, after a Mario Gomez brace was enough to see off a below parr Roma side at the Stadio Olimpico.

Speaking to Rai Sport after the match, Montella stated his belief in his side’s ability to compete in every competition.

“We are doing well in accordance with our level of ability,” he began.

“We have the ambition to continue to do well on all fronts.”

The 40-year-old continued to praise his team and stated his delight in being able to coach them.

“I am proud to coach these guys.

“I am proud to be the man in charge of this fantastic group.”

He concluded by singing the praises of striker Mario Gomez, who has come into a purple patch of form of late, particularly in the Coppa Italia, in which he has scored four times in his last two games.

“With Gomez it was only a matter of time and trust. Tonight we witnessed a lethal striker.

“He has found himself again and will become important to us.”
