New Atalanta striker Mauricio Pinilla was bitter-sweet about his game-winning goal, regretting that it had to come against his former side Cagliari.
Pinilla joined Atalanta on loan from Genoa, and has already made three appearances for his new team. His game-winner against Cagliari was his first Serie A goal for Atalanta.
“We struggled in the last month but this victory is the reward of all our work,” Pinilla said to Sky Sport Italia.
“The goal? I saw the ball coming my way and tried to put it in the top-corner. Luckily it went well.
“I am sorry however that it came against Cagliari, a team that remains in my heart and where I lived great moments.
“But I am also happy for my current team. I came to Atalanta to play as I still have a lot to give in Serie A.
“A tatoo [of the top-corner strike against Cagliari? I think so.”
