Newcastle United’s Davide Santon is set to make a return to his former side Inter on loan with the right of redemption and will undergo his medical with the club on Monday.

The 24-year-old fullback has not featured for Newcastle this season due to his long term knee injury and has been out for the last seven months, now it appears that his venture into the English Premier League has reached its conclusion and he is set to return to the Nerazzurri.

Santon will join on loan for no fee initially, according to Sky Sport Italia, and Inter are obligated to pay €4 million after the player makes 13 appearances for the Nerazzurri.

The fullback, capable of playing on both flanks, made his professional bow with Inter in early 2009 and made in excess of 50 appearances over the course of three seasons before he was sent out on loan to Cesena.

In the summer of 2011 he opted to join Newcastle and went on to make nearly 100 appearances in all competitions for the side.
