Lazio midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has revealed that the capital city club’s main goals for the season are to win the Coppa Italia and return to Europe.

The Biancocelesti currently sit in fourth place in the Serie A standings and have secured a spot in the Coppa Italia semi-finals against reigning tournament champions Napoli, with the first leg set to take place on March 4, and the 22-year-old believes that his team are capable of ending the season on a high note thanks to their impressive performances in recent months.

Onazi spoke to AllAfrica.com about Lazio’s objectives for the remainder of the campaign and commented on his future in Rome, stating that he has no desire to play anywhere else.

“We are not the best team in the Serie A but we have shown our quality through our performances,” said the Nigerian international.

“We are building something important and I hope that I can give continuity with my performances. We want to get back into Europe and win the Coppa Italia.

“My future? I’ve been approached by many clubs and it had bothered me. I am happy at Lazio and I love the city of Rome.”
