Ahead of the match against Hellas Verona, Palermo coach Giuseppe Iachini shared his hopes of an improved result and performance from his side.

After taking an early lead in their first meeting of the season, the Rosanero conceded twice to eventually lose the away fixture, but Iachini believes things can go differently for the rematch on Sunday.

“In the first leg we played well, but then we were penalized beyond our demerits,” said Iachini to the press.

“We’d had several occasions to make goals, we will have to be more cynical, this is something that often we missed.”

The coach then touched on the void left by injured midfielder Enzo Maresca.

“I am considering all things [without Maresca], even judging from how the field will be, if it will be heavy or not,” he said.

“The characteristics of those who play in that role will change, but will not change the attitude and the great belief that we will put on the field.”
