franco vazquez palermoPalermo midfielder Franco Vazquez will reportedly receive a call up to Antonio Conte’s Italy squad for the national team’s upcoming matches in March.

The 25-year-old was born in Argentina but was able to gain Italian citizenship thanks to his mother, who comes from Italy, and it seems like he may now be given a chance to shine with the Azzurri depending on his decision to accept the call or not.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Conte intends to include the attacking midfielder in his line up for Italy’s next two games, which are a Euro 2016 qualifier against Bulgaria on March 28 and a friendly against England on March 31, and has already spoken to the player about his plans to use him.

Vazquez, who has expressed his willingness to play for the Azzurri in the past, has scored seven goals and provided 10 assists in his 22 Serie A appearances for Palermo this term thus far.
