Roma president James Pallotta has cheekily said that Lazio president Claudio Lotito should buy financially-stricken club Parma.

The Crociati are on the brink of a possible bankruptcy and Lotito has been critical of many aspects of Italian football recently, so Pallotta decided to take a swipe at the Lazio owner’s actions and comments.

“Sometimes in the USA the league associations allow the saving of sides like Parma behind the scenes. It is full of clubs that have had problems,” Pallotta told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I would like a restructuring of the Lega Serie A. When we have succeeded then the situation will be so easy to deal with.

“Lotito has lots of money, probably he should buy Parma himself. If he telephones everyday to know how they’re getting on, how is it possible that Parma always have problems?”
