Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo has revealed that he wants to win the Champions League with the Old Lady before he ends his professional footballing career.

The 35-year-old has already won Europe’s most prestigious tournament twice in his career during his time at AC Milan, but he admits that he now hopes to help lead the Bianconeri to achieving the same success as they prepare to face Borussia Dortmund in the round of 16 on Tuesday.

Pirlo spoke to La Stampa about his wishes to lift the Champions League trophy at Juventus and commented on the fight for the Scudetto this season.

“I came here to win trophies and we’ve done it, but now we have to make the jump in quality,” said the veteran playmaker.

“Before I retire I want to win the Champions League at Juventus.

“Atalanta? We were still angry about throwing away the two points against Cesena, we could not repeat that result.

“The Scudetto? Our advantage at the moment means nothing, it takes a loss and a draw from us and Roma can catch up.

“The championship is still open.”
