Genoa have had their loan offer for FC Porto’s Jose Angel rejected by the club as the Rossoblu continue their search for a fullback.
Gian Piero Gasperini seems resigned to losing Luca Antonelli to AC Milan and have switched their attentions to the former Roma fullback after negotiations with Milan’s Pablo Armero fell through as the player opted against joining the Ligurian side.
According to A Bola, Genoa made an approach for the 25-year-old but they found the offer swiftly rejected by Porto head coach Julen Lopetegui who still believes that the Spaniard still has an important role to play for the club despite having found his first team opportunities stifled in recent months.
Angel spent three seasons on the Roma books from 2011 until 2014, however he spent two seasons on loan at Real Sociedad after failing to impress during his first season with the side.
