Arrigo Sacchi Former Italy and AC Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi has made headlines across the peninsula by stating that there are too many black players in Italian youth teams.

The comments come on the same day after Inter claimed the Viareggio Cup over Hellas Verona and will no doubt cause a stir for the next few days regarding the the ongoing battle against racism in the country.

“Italy is without dignity, there is no pride: it’s not possible to see a youth team with 15 foreigners,” Sacchi stated while speaking at a ceremony in Pistoia as reported by Sportmediaset.

“Watching the Viareggio Cup I must say there are too many black players, even in the Primavera.

“I am not racist, my history as a coach speaks for itself starting with Frank Rijkaard, but our football must show some pride.”
