Udinese striker Cyril Thereau has said his side put in a good performance against Juventus, which highlighted the team’s character.

The Bianconeri held the Italian champions to a goalless draw at the Stadio Friuli on Sunday afternoon in Serie A, and the Frenchman has said the point that Andrea Stramaccioni’s men picked up was well deserved.

“We regret a few mistakes in the first half, but it was still a good performance overall,” the 31-year-old told Udinese Channel.

“We showed good personality even with youth on the field.”

The draw meant that Juventus couldn’t extend their lead on title chasers Roma at the top of the table who remain seven points behind, while Udinese, despite claiming a draw, move down to 12th in the table on goal difference after Sassuolo’s victory over Inter.

However, the Nerazzurri and the Neroverdi are both on 28 points along with Udinese, and a win for any of them next week could take them up to seventh.
