In the wake of speculation surrounding his client with a move to AC Milan, the agent of Mirko Valdifiori has insisted the Empoli man can make the step up.

He conducted a lengthy interview with MilanNews.it in which he seemed intent on convincing the public that the 28-year-old could be a success at San Siro.

Mario Giuffredi said of the situation: “We enjoy the appreciation that Milan, and Adriano Galliani, have in him. It is a real honour. Things would be even happier if this appreciation becomes reality.

“Valdifiori could please Galliani, as could other players but at the moment, he is not going to Milan. I have not been called by anyone but if one of the greatest Italian directors at this level, is the first to express nice words about Valdifiori, it is very gratifying.

“Others have not said anything about a player who is among the strongest in our league.”

He continued to gush hyperbolic praise about the former Cesena man, going on: “He is 28-years-old and at the height of his maturity so I will be sorry if someone wants to pass him off as old.

“Milan will always be Milan, a glorious team and although they are looking at young players, they should keep an eye on the present. He would do well at Milan and can play four or five years at the highest level.

“Pirlo is 35 and is still giving footballing lessons to those who are neither young or Italian.”
