Torino coach Giampiero Ventura is hoping that his squad is not done winning matches.

The Granata have won their past three matches in Serie A and are unbeaten in their last eight in the league. With the 5-1 thrashing of Sampdoria on Sunday, Ventura’s men jumped back into the top half of the table.

“For once I want to emphasise the merits of Torino instead of the faults of our opponents,” Ventura told Radio Rai. “They are a great squad, we played the game well and deserve this great success.”

The 67-year-old has coached Torino since 2011, and he still sees room for improvement in his squad.

“This is the result of work over the past few years,” Ventura continued. “We have patience and bet on young people, we know we can achieve great things, going from Serie B to Athletic Bilbao in Europe.”

Despite the good run of form, Ventura said that the next few matches could determine where Torino end up.

“After these last two victories, we are at a crossroads: either bask in the results or try to carve out an important place in this season,” he said.

Torino face Hellas Verona and Cagliari before hosting the first leg of their Round of 32 tie against Bilbao on February 19.
